More prospects! More talent! That could only mean one thing:
More Sid Buckley!
It’s time for the strength trial mock draft. I know what you’re thinking: ‘But Sid, you absolutely nailed the last one. Go out on top, man!’ Not the way Buckleys are built.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at where I think these draft hopefuls will land!
Warning: Contains potential spoilers!
Round 1
Pick 1.1 - PIC - The Nickleman - The man went into the battle royal last month and earned his spot after very narrowly missing being drafted the first time around. He’s a man on a mission. A solid addition
Pick 1.2 - MW - Catalina Cortes - A standout of the first trial, Cat catches the eye of Marcus Welsh as he looks to build on a strong Bravery team performance.
Pick 1.3 - TLS - Vhodka Black - If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. PIC wants to head a youth movement. Welsh won’t be able to put his differences with Vhodka aside, fresh off a fight against her. The reigning winner falls into the lap of TLS in hopes of recreating that Bravery Trial magic.
Round 2
Pick 2.1 - TLS - Matt Knox - Another familiar face. Rumor has it, TLS is recycling his notes from the last trial. No time to research when you’re celebrating a victory, I guess! But this one will lead to some team chemistry questions.
Pick 2.2 - MW - Sahara Duke - Come on. What needs to be said?
Pick 2.3 - PIC - Sebastian Everett-Bryce - A star in the business gets a chance to make another big splash. A strong building block falls to PIC. The talented technician may be just what the doctor ordered for Team PIC.
Round 3
Pick 3.1 - PIC - Jonathan Bacchus - PIC continues to build on a strong draft class with Bacchus. A cerebral competitor with a mind built for this challenge. A round three steal.
Pick 3.2 - MW - ALIAS - Though a mystery to some, a seasoned expert like myself will tell you that this guy is dangerous. A threat to win the whole thing with a lot of traits that Welsh looks for in a talent.
Pick 3.3 - TLS - Thaddeus Duke - TLS continues to stockpile talent from the first trial. Adding another battle-tested member of the bravery trials fits the Team TLS draft strategy perfectly. What can I say, he’s got a type!
Round 4
Pick 4.1 - TLS - Veronica Cain - A game of Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe lands TLS his first new face to the competition. He lucks out, as Harvey Marx was the ‘Miny’ in the game, and lands another very strong competitor to round out an impressive squad. Cain has a mean streak that we’ve seen may be necessary to overcome a challenge like this.
Pick 4.2 - MW - Dickie Watson - Welsh lands a daredevil who does his best work when things are chaotic, and these trials are full of chaos. Watson is a fearless competitor who won't be thrown off by the twists of the trials.
Pick 4.3 - PIC - Dionysus - Don’t call him Mr. Irrelevant! In a draft overflowing with talent, even the final pick is a threat to win it all. This team has a little bit of everything, but had a need for some power. They find plenty of that here by landing the big man from XWF, who just may also be the most interesting man in the draft.
