And that’s a wrap for the NIGHTS of these Trials that are named ‘Strength’. Because within strength lies muscles or something.

Ya know, as artists and, yes, we’re all artists here, we have a tendency to beat ourselves up more than we should. ONCE is more than it should ever happen, if we’re being honest. But it does. I just want you all to know that when I look around this place I see 16 extremely gifted, unique, charming, and wonderful handlers that, whether the results reflect it or not, are winning in every way that matters.

Don’t ever think your work goes unnoticed. Don’t ever think it isn’t appreciated. Because it is.

This time of year can be rough on some. So, I just ask you all to not be so hard on yourselves. You’re all amazing in your own way.

What was the best match? The opener, NARROWLY over the second match. The 1v1 at the end was very fun.

What was the best spot? Other than Nickleman getting run over? Stratford's revenge. Good storytelling moment, and a fun way to have someone eliminated. Also, Cat's huge Cata-Rana on Dio

What was the best segment? CYPH3R calling out PIC! But also ALIAS and Wolf.

What was the best line(s) of commentary?

MoMo: The Atomic Drop that ruined her prom dress on Night 7 after Catalina stripped her of her TRIAD spanx!

Welsh: That is one stupid fucking sentence, my man.

MoMo: Close! Dadbod trying to get in and out of there as quick as possible!

Welsh: Just like that one time of year on their anniversary when Trina puts out.

MoMo: And here comes Bacchus! He might need some rhinoplasty when this is done.

How would you rate Night 8 on a scale of 1-100?

I'm saying 99 because I assume the finale will be 100, maybe 101, I'll do that annoying ass shit where I say a number that's not on the scale. But anyway with this being the penultimate episode to setup the end of the season, there was plenty of drama with the matches themselves and how the scores shook out, with another wicked gimmick match at the top anchored by the elimination tag matches where you might end up fighting your own partner in the end, so drama potential abounds.

What was the best match?

I'm gonna say the main event this week just because of the gimmick, I love the inner circle/outer circle setup, the action definitely happening inside the circle between the two legal teammates, while the two on the outside can either fight or chill. The only downside is I was also in Action Wrestling and am not competing with my Action Wrestling character here, so this could've been an AW swan song 4-way before everyone clanks their pee glasses together and looks to the future. The three-way dueling chant for Adams, Bacchus and Dio was nice and a capstone to that chapter of the rasslin' careers and the connection you make with people when you're all involved in the same awkward situation, like it's not quite trauma-bonding, but there's gotta be a similar term. Efed-drama-bonding maybe. I'm sorry about the pee spot.

What was the best spot?

Alias beats Stratord with words and classic cheating. Great character beat with both guys, but I appreciate how even with the verbal psyche-out and the cheap shot headbutt, Alias still made sure to grab the tights, because at that point why wouldn't you? Also the skies opening up because the gods approve of Dadbod hitting Uphill Both Ways on Sarah Wolf, we are truly in Mortal Kombat territory setting-wise, with less death I guess. Also, Wiley Wallaby licorice in the ME, that shit is delicious and available at Target, try it, you'll see what I mean.

What was the best segment?

Parker/Knox, especially because Parker could easily phone-in his participation after being a late replacement for Nickelman, but dude's made his presence felt on every show since and is set to be a major part of this event through the finale and going into the Wit Trials. Also loved the Team PIC meeting, with tensions flaring and Dadbod calling for a wholesome all hands together moment that Alias and Dionysus want none of. At least Harvey is willing to participate in one of those Saved by the Bell group high fives that logistically cannot fucking work. Also very much enjoyed the trolley problem segment with Alias and Sarah, because asking someone a trolley problem question is major heel shit.

What was the best line(s) of commentary?

Welsh: BITE HER FUCKIN HAND

Sound strategic analysis, I dunno if someone has ever bitten your hand(you can test this on yourself) but it fucking hurts, if you're a younger sibling you learn to turn teeth into a weapon.

Best moment of the show?

Show featured at least two people from Alabama, I'm always happy to see representation, although for accuracy I feel Dale's last words should've been 'Roll Tide.'

Most shocking moment of the show?

The obvious answer is the death of Dale, especially considering it was via holy light like the Ark of the Covenant, hopefully on the next show nobody drinks from the wrong grail and ages at super-speed until they're a pile of dust, although I could see someone pulling a Mola Ram/Kano ripping the heart from someone's chest, really that's what this whole season has been building to.

Suggestions?

Nah, not really. Great season so far, I think the Strength Trials found their footing with the Mortal Kombat/Indiana Jones vibe and everything's been a natural extension of that ever since. I'm also grateful we have more RP time with the holidays looming.

83.6969420. Good show all round, but some of the matches hit harder than others making it a little less balanced imo than Night 7, which I was a big fan of.

What was the best match?
The opener. Everyone got a really strong showing and I felt it was the best tag match in terms of psychology.

What was the best spot?
Strat double-crossing Sahara. Really nice, tidy throwback to Night 5

What was the best segment?
I thought it was pretty cool to see CYPH3R tying in an extra storyline to the show. I'm all about segments that lead to a bigger picture.

What was the best line(s) of commentary?
Welsh: C’mon, SEB! You’re better than this...you’re a rich she’s a poor...establish dominance!
MoMo: In the ring we’re all equals, Marcus, you know that.
Welsh: Fuck off with your communist propaganda!

Best moment of the show?
Sean Parker looking like a star even though he was unsuccessful.

Most shocking moment of the show?
I mentioned Strat/Sahara already, so let's go with The 'Bod pulling it off again. I'm not really surprised from an rp perspective, just the IV character aspect of it.
