~We cut to the desk of Marcus Welsh. But there is no Welsh. There is only Leo. And we totally said that like Sigourney Weaver in Ghostbusters. Leo is stacking some papers around. He’s wearing a sports coat with a TRIAD t-shirt underneath~
Leo: Hey there TRIAD Triangulers!! Tis I, the leader of Team Welsh for the time being. And if you have any worries about Team Welsh’s ability to get the job done...fear not! I’ve personally touched base with all four team members and they are locked in. New Year’s Eve is going to be a great night for Team Welsh.
~Leo spells the word ‘W-I-T’ in the air with his pinky. He then sticks it in his mouth and sucks on it for a quick second for some strange reason. It ‘pops’ as he removes it from his mouth and points it right at us~
Leo: That’s right. WIT is just around the corner. The final series of Trials here in TRIAD. Twelve wrestlers will vie for the final piece of the TRIAD as they look to secure the final five spots in The Great Illuminatus.
~Leo leans back, getting real comfortable in Welsh’s chair~
Leo: Fifteen of the best this business has to offer have signed up. That number could easily double between now and Draft Night. But, since it’s the holiday season and I have literally nothing to do work wise until New Year’s Eve...I thought I’d look at the field and name the five I think Welsh is most likely to draft and why.
~Leo props his legs up on the desk. This reveals he’s not wearing any pants only a pair of Sahara boxers. He quickly pulls his legs back down under the desk~
Leo: Haha...yikes. Okay, let’s get started. I’ll also be omitting anyone that has previously competed in the Trials. Sorry LCP, Dionysus, and Mr. Parker.
~Leo holds up an image of (untitled)~
1) (untitled)
There isn’t much known about this competitor. But, I think that’s what will draw Mr. Welsh to them. Dadbod and Mancini shocked the Strength Trials this past go around, coming from out of nowhere to land in the top two matches at Angkor Anguish. So, I look for Marcus to try and locate his ‘dark horse’ and something about (untitled) tells me that they are going to do very, very well if drafted.
2) Max Daemon
He’s pretty much the opposite of (untitled). Daemon has a name that stretches the entire landscape of pro wrestling. He’s also a competitor who deserves a shot in TRIAD to experience all that this great ‘tournament’, if you will, offers. I think Mr. Welsh will look to draft Daemon and help him enjoy his experience in TRIAD.
3) Tara Ayla
Another name I’m unfamiliar with but there’s just something about it that makes me think...makes me think about OCW legacy. OCW legends. I can’t place my finger on it. However, if I’m feeling it, you know Mr. Welsh is, too. I think Marcus will take one look at Ayla’s bio and find himself sold on her ability to get over in TRIAD.
4) Atara Raven
As we wind down here in TRIAD, I think Mr. Welsh is going to look to try and work with some people he’s never worked with before...while also looking to maybe reconnect with some people he’s drifted away from in the past years. Atara Raven certainly fits the latter. We all know she’s talented. We all know she has more Wit than any one person should be allowed to possess. But, will she wind up on Team Welsh? I think there’s a good chance of that.
5) CYPH3R and/or Tamika Strader
One of these two is getting drafted by Mr. Welsh. I just know it. Tamika saw her career take off under Mr. Welsh’s leadership. She now runs the very promotion he helped bring back to prominence. CYPH3R was Welsh’s chosen one in 2022 until legal issues halted his momentum. CYPH3R made a big statement on Night 8 and I think that type of attitude, geared toward Team leader PIC, is the type of gumption Welsh is going to look for in a team leader.
These are all just guesses on my end. I know Mr. Welsh is very intrigued with Bert McAlroy, Vita Mors, and Cam Roth, as well. Then you’ve got SYNN and Bourbon...two wrestlers Mr. Welsh has a lot of history with. And how about Ace Sky? Mr. Welsh certainly knows his name. Has Ace matured enough to compete in a field this tough? Mr. Welsh might think so! There’s so much talent already in this field. It’s gonna be wild, you guys!
~Leo takes a sip of his ‘TRIAD’ energy drink. Who knew they made energy drinks. TRIAD Energy: Find your inner Triangle! Anyway, back to Leo~
Now let’s dig into something really interesting...let’s dig into five names I know Mr. Welsh would love to see enlist. Five names he’d love to work with before this all ends. Because, when this is over, Mr. Welsh’s career may go down with it...he’d no doubt like to check a few names off that ‘bucket list’ before it’s all over.
So, let’s take a look!
1) Brennan Devlin
Consider this Mr. Welsh’s white whale. He’s recruited Devlin, to my knowledge, several times in the past. And they’ve been || that close to a deal on a number of occasions. It’s just never worked out...timing has never been right. Is this the last chance for these two to work together? It might be. I know if Devlin jumps in Mr. Welsh is going to dive at the chance to draft him.
2) Corey Black
Did you guys know that Corey Black is a Free Agent? Nah, me neither. Crazy stuff! Welsh has always admired Mr. Black’s talents from afar. But I think the vibe around the old OCW offices was that Black was a one promotion type of performer. Well, now that he’s a Free Agent...that’s all out the window. If Black were to enlist, I know Mr. Welsh would love to work with him.
3) Mark Flynn
Mr. Welsh has historically done very well with XWF talents. And, he’s worked with just about all of them...except for Mark Flynn. Flynn is a name that probably doesn’t echo out as far as it should in the pro wrestling landscape...but make no mistake about it, he’s extremely talented and very witty. He’d be a perfect fit for the Wit Trials. Welsh would absolutely love to work with this performer.
4) The Influence
Yea, it’s a tag team. Delia Black or Claudia Frost...take your pick. Or both! Marcus Welsh loves, loves, loves the work of these two. No doubt he’d enjoy working with them one last time before this all ends. Fingers crossed they enlist!
5) James Raven
Surprised? You shouldn’t be. Raven and Welsh were once very close. In fact, Marcus told me on more than one occasion that he thought James Raven was the best talent he’d seen in pro wrestling since Matt Meyhu...and he thought there was a chance Raven might even surpass what Meyhu accomplished in OCW. But, it never happened. So, here we are...one last go around in TRIAD...is Raven willing to jump in and work with Mr. Welsh one last time? It’d be awesome if he did.
Anything is possible, friends. And these are just names off the top of my pretty little head.
And while this might read like a setup for Mr. Welsh’s retirement, don’t take it as such. I haven’t had any in-depth talks with him as of late due to his suspension. I just know TRIAD is coming to an end and once The Great Illuminatus is finished there are going to be some big decisions Mr. Welsh, PIC, and TLS will have to make.
That’s all I’ve got for today. If you didn’t get a mention, don’t fret! Anybody that enlists has a shot to be drafted and take part in the Wit Trials!
Good luck to all and Happy Holidays from your boy, Leo!
